A special Sunday, Felix and Oscar’s 3rd birthday. Floki and the Wayside Inn, Gas prices, and…more Pandemic.

THE BOYS ARE THREE. My gangstas. My sweet babies. The guys. Felix and Oscar.

Felix and Oscar on their 3rd birthday
The Brothers turned 3 today.

The guys are 3. I can’t believe it. I remember when I brought them home in July 2017.

I was so heartbroken after losing my beautiful Jelly Donut in March of that same year, and Alexei in June. My house was so empty, and so was my heart.

I needed felines in my home. Sis told me I should get two kittens. And I started looking at shelters (I will admit I looked at Russian Blue breeders, but it felt like I would be trying to replace Alexei, and I couldn’t bear that thought – he could never be replaced 🙁 )

And then I found two action-oriented little black kittens from North Carolina.

Beaufort and Beaumont. AKA: Felix and Oscar.

My Boys.

Happy Birthday to my boys, who make my house a home and are the best little Rip and Tear (my dad’s suggestion for names when he first met them, and there was a lot of fast, abrupt movement). The perfect little pals.

It was gorgeous out today – 64 degrees, slight breeze, bright and sunny. After yesterday’s SNOW, and the continued isolation due to the pandemic, it was time to get my ass outside.

Annnnnyway…long story short, I decided to drive out to the Wayside Inn in Sudbury. It’s beautiful there, and when my family moved to Sudbury in 1976, we stayed there for a few weeks. I love it there.

And when my friend J asked if I wouldn’t entertain her fantastic beast, Floki, the 18-month old Scottish Terrier, I of course said YES because anytime spent with Floki, is time spent living in the moment, at 110% and just having FUN.

Johns Hopkins Covid World Map snapshot 4/19/20
April 19th Snapshot. There are 7.6 billion people in the world. Only 2.4 million confirmed cases. What % of the 7.6 billion people have been tested? This really feels like just the beginning.
